The Latin American House is delighted to announce the presentation of Ventana Latina's first anthology of poetry. The event will held at the Canning House on the 4 of April 2012 at 6:30pm. There will be a poetry recital and the opportunity to meet one of the authors who will read her poetry and stay to sign copies of the book. Three countries are represented in this anthology: Chile, Bolivia and Mexico. The event will be followed by a wine reception kindly donated by the Chilean Embassy (This event will be held in Spanish).

About the Anthology of Poetry Ventana Latina 2011

Publishing a compilation of poetry was an idea that was born almost at the same time Ventana Latina was born. Because of the large production of contemporary Latin American poetry and the lack of portals and diffusion in the Diaspora, Ventana Latina set itself the goal of offering people, in a more accessible way, one page of poetry in each edition and the Anthology at the end of each year.

By making it more “accessible”, we mean presenting a short selection of poetry in the context of a cultural magazine in which the public could have the opportunity of approaching, without fear, new Latin American poetry.  We have nothing against the poetry classics, but new authors need a space to be published and reach an audience. This Anthology presents six Latin American authors, all with an excellent professional trajectory and Ventana Latina is proud to have the privilege of publishing them. We believe it is an achievement will mark the beginning of something far bigger.

These poets said what they thought and felt in a very direct way and without reservations. So everything I thought about poetry turned out to be wrong, and I started to understand what it’s about.”

This workshop has been designed in order to participants acquire a methodology to generate ideas through different techniques and tools that will help to express their creative, innate and existing potential. The participants will learn how to create a propitious mental frame and different tools to stimulate their mental creative power.

Participants:             Adults, with/without acting experience.

                                      Spanish-speaking people.

                                      People with intermediate and upper-intermediate Spanish level.
