1976
A few years after the 1973 Pinochet coup in Chile, a very middle-class woman (Aline Kuppenheim) is drawn into caring for a wounded man on the run. When she discovers that he’s not a criminal, but a political activist, she finds herself trying to outwit and escape the agents of the regime. Winner of the Sutherland Award for Best First Feature at the London Film Festival last year, it’s a tense examination of a woman who gradually opens her eyes to what was going on under the surface of her hitherto comfortable existence.
