Quienes Somos

La Casa Latinoamericana nació en 1983 como Latin American Association. Desde entonces, ha servido como centro comunitario tanto para latinoamericanos en Londres como para la gente local de Kilburn. Hoy en día, aunque nuestros lazos con la comunidad local siguen siendo fuertes, nuestro objetivo es ser una fuente de apoyo e información para la población latinoamericana en todo el Reino Unido.

Somos una organización benéfica registrada y una compañía limitada por garantía, y albergamos una de las guarderías de habla hispana más antiguas de Londres. Ofrecemos asesoría legal y social en relación a beneficios, vivienda y derecho laboral, así como clases para adultos y un espacio para conocer gente, compartir ideas y disfrutar de las ricas culturas de América Latina.

Conoce al equipo

Comité de Dirección

Enrique Saenz (Chair) BA, MSc

Of Mexican origin, Enrique moved to the UK in the eighties and worked as a correspondent for Mexican media. Most of his professional life in the UK has been in London in the not-for-profit sector. He has been Director of Latin American House (LAH) and has worked as development consultant for AdviceUK. He is now back at LAH as the chair of its Board of Trustees.

Raúl Valdivia Murgueytio BA MA MSc PhD

Originally from Peru, Raúl has worked in the charity and education sectors in the UK since 2005. He has considerable experience in project coordination and evaluation, teacher training and global education. At LAH, he chairs the Culture sub-committee and is also a member of the Adult Education sub-committee. Trained in psychology, public health and sociology, he currently works as an independent scholar and curator.

Miguel Mercado

Miguel landed in Britain 1979 as a Chilean refugee, and has since been linked to the Latin American community – indeed, he is one of the remaining living active founders of Latin American House. He is an experienced executive in strategic planning, training and communications with a considerable record of international work. He is passionate environmentalist and horticulturalist. 

Juan José Jaramillo BS, PGDip, PMP

Born and raised in Colombia, Juan José has worked in the private sector for 20 years. He has experience and training in Marketing and Project Management (Agile and PRINCE2), most recently in the technology sector, supporting businesses implementing new efficiency – creating technologies. Juan José’s relationship with LAH began as a volunteer, and he now chairs the Building sub-committee.

Ines Hermida

Inés is an Argentinian who has been living and working in London for most of her career. She has an extensive track record working in marketing and communications, having managed world-leading brands such as Whole Foods as well as smaller wellness start-ups. She is passionate about sustainability and about supporting the Latin American community to lead healthy, fulfilling lives. 

Henry Webb

Of Guatemalan origin, Henry is a financial executive with broad experience in Corporate Finance and Financial Analysis. His career includes positions at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, and he now applies his financial experience as well as his passion for the wellbeing of Latin Americans in the UK as a member of the Board of Trustees at Latin American House.
