In-house immigration advisor/solicitor

Latin American House is hiring for an In-House Immigration Advisor/Solicitor. This position will be part of our Legal and Social Advice Services Department, which currently employs a dedicated EUSS Applications Officer and a Welfare Advice Caseworker.

The purpose of the in-house immmigration Advisor/solicitor is to support vulnerable and at-risk Latin Americans through the provision of specialist immigration advice (at the equivalent of OISC Level 2 and above) and casework.

The post holder will be qualified to provide the service and will hold at least Level 2  (advice and assistance) Registration with the Office of the Immigration services Commissioner (OISC). Ideally we are looking for either an advisor already registered at Level 3 (OISC) and experienced in working at that level or a qualified solicitor.

EUSS Applications Officer

Latin American House is looking for an EUSS Applications Officer with an initial contract until the end of September, with possibility of extension subject to funding.

The post holder will be qualified to provide the service, and will at least have the Level 1 (Level 1 EUSS only is accepted for this post) of advice and assistance according to the OISC. The candidate will be able to speak Spanish and/or Portuguese at conversational level.

The position is offered on a part-time (30 hrs/wk) basis, four days a week. We are open to offering it on a job-share basis (i.e. two candidates working two days per week each).
