Learning & Curriculum

Curriculum

We follow the government’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework. Activities are planned to cover all areas of a child development. The main areas to be developed are:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development

As children grow, they will be able to develop in the following areas:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

Activities

Our learning is mostly focused around stories, songs, crafts, and games. We also love to take every opportunity we can to take the children outdoors – whenever the weather allows, we put on our hi-vis vests and head to Kilburn Grange Park Playground!

Our Outdoor Learning Places

We thoroughly enjoy spending time outdoors. As we are exploring the outdoors, the children learn new vocabulary and gain understanding of the natural world. Kilburn Grange Park is one of our favourite spots with its huge green space and well-equipped play area! Quex Park is another nearby park where we can practise running and climbing. Collecting sticks, conkers and leaves to use in arts and crafts projects later in the day is also a must for us.

Sensory Play Room

We are pleased to be able to provide this lovely space where the children can play and relax during the day. The children’s imagination can transform this room into a sea, jungle, spaceship - you name it! This is for certain one of the children’s and adults favourite rooms.
